Gentle and Lowly: We Must Be Convinced of Jesus' Love for Us...

God has a purpose for you, BUT being convinced of Jesus' love for you is the first step to praying and living according to His plan....

“Come to Me, all who are weary and heavily burdened [by religious rituals that provide no peace], and I will give you rest [refreshing your souls with salvation]. Take My yoke upon you and learn from Me [following Me as My disciple], for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest (renewal, blessed quiet) for your souls. For My yoke is easy [to bear], and My burden is light.” Matthew 11:28-30 AMP

"The Lord upholds all those [of His own] who fall and raises up all those who are bowed down. The eyes of all look to You [in hopeful expectation], and You give them their food in due time. You open Your hand and satisfy the desire of every living thing. The Lord is [unwaveringly] righteous in all His ways and gracious and kind in all His works. The Lord is near to all who call on Him, to all who call on Him in truth (without guile). He will fulfill the desire of those who fear and worship Him [with awe-inspired reverence and obedience]; He also will hear their cry and will save them." Psalm 145:14-19 AMP

EATING ENCOURAGEMENT...

I have tried to make it a habit to share Nutrition Nuggets or Super Simple Supper or Snack ideas. However, I have realized that sometimes we simply have to be honest with ourselves about things that we are doing that might be getting in our way of weight loss or even just feeling like a full-functioning human being. So, this time, I will use a new, crafty little food segment name to encourage you -- and myself -- to remember why we should do things differently.

I am ELEVEN pounds down!! YAY!! But two weeks ago, I had to have a firm conversation with myself. I recognized some things that could result from the gluten and caffeine I was allowing myself to have. (Yes...caffeine-free coffee still has caffeine in it! Ughh!)

Seriously, though, I really do LOVE avocado toast and a cup of coffee. This was not going to be an easy move!!

But when I started thinking about the full list of things that could possibly be dealt with, I had to make the change. Think about it...the headaches have been pretty intense. There seemed to be a lot of inflammation in my knees and feet. I’ve been dealing with what seems like an extra amount of anxiety. Also… not to be gross … but I’ve had a lot of phlegm in my throat.

The thing is that EVERY SINGLE ONE of these things can be traced to gluten and caffeine. So, I went cold turkey on both, and two weeks out, I am not entirely out of the woods, but I am noticing a considerable difference in all these areas.

It doesn’t mean I won’t be having carbs or hot drinks. In fact, I’ve been having corn tortillas with my guacamole, feta and pico and dandelion tea with coconut sugar and toasted coconut milk. The switch was not just comparable...it has been REALLY GOOD. So, the theory was worth testing, and the change is COMPLETELY worth making!!

What small change do you need to make for your health and wellness? Whatever it is...Sister, you are TOTALLY worth it!!
